Bow Wow wants everyone to know that he is alcohol free. He credits that to his upbringing and the fact that he knows that he could not be involved in all the things he wants to because alcohol would bring him down. He says, “If I were to drink and do stuff like that, I couldn’t do it. It’s like your whole body would just kind of shut down and you just couldn’t do it. If you’re going to do anything in life, don’t drink at all.”

He goes on to say that drinking is not cool and that the people who he surrounds himself with also don’t drink. “If you’re young, there’s so much stuff that you could be doing that the same people your age are doing, like having fun, basketball, movies. There’s just so many other things in life to do, especially at a young age and you can just ruin everything for your whole life.”

Lovers and Friends: Bow Wow & Ciara

Bow Wow and Ciara make an odd couple. And it’s not just because the statuesque Ciara towers over her diminutive boyfriend. Bow Wow is hell-bent on shedding his teen image, liberally using the N-word on Wanted, his fourth album. He’ll freely admit that he’s not a virgin (“I might look like one,” he will say later, “but I ain’t”). And when asked about his love life, he’ll break it down with no hesitation: “I got a female that just about every nigga wants, and she got a dude that just about every girl wants.” In a few days, during a photo shoot for this magazine, Bow Wow and Ciara will be together: A young man who is determined to reconfigure his persona, and a young woman equally driven to protect her own.

Bow Wow Races to 'Fast and Furious 3'

Bow Wow, who skates into theaters on Friday (Sept. 23) with "Roll Bounce," is trading up for a larger set of wheels.The 18-year-old rapping actor will fulfill his need for speed with "The Fast and the Furious 3," the latest installment of the popular street-racing film franchise. "Me and Lucas Black are actually starring in that movie," says Bow Wow. "'Fast and the Furious 3: Tokyo.' It's gonna be hot and different. My first action movie, so it's gonna be great." Directed by Justin Lin ("Better Luck Tomorrow"), the story revolves around a not-so-ugly American who flees to Tokyo to avoid prison for his illegal racing ways. He discovers the next level in rubber-burning adrenalin rushes: drift racing. The underground motor sport challenges drivers to accelerate through hairpin turns and then spin out of them, making for hair-raising races through city streets.

Bow Wow is talking with various networks about shooting a reality show following his life in music and movies as well as "me and my mother living in my house," the rapper said recently. Bow just started recording his fourth album, which marks a return to working with Jermaine Dupri. "I really want this album to be about me going back home with So So Def and being back with JD, so we're just going to play that really big," he said.

The roller-skating comedy "Roll Bounce" is moving forward with a cast that includes Bow Wow, Nick Cannon, Khleo Thomas, Chi McBride, Mike Epps, Meagan Good and Rick Gonzalez. The film is due to start filming June 28 in Chicago with Malcolm Lee directing. From a script by Norman Vance Jr., the late '70s-inspired coming-of-age comedy centers on a time when roller skating was a way of life. X (Bow Wow) and his pals rule supreme at their local roller-skating rink, but when the doors close, the boys venture into foreign territory -- uptown's Sweetwater Roller Rink, complete with over-the-top skaters and beautiful girls. Through his preparation for the showdown of the season, X manages to find himself and also help his dad (McBride) get back on track. Nick Cannon next stars in "The Underclassman" and "Shall We Dance?"

Bow Wow tells MTV News that after seeing his 'Like You' video with Ciara (watch it here), their relationship should be obvious to everyone. "Everybody's been asking, 'You dating? You dating?' " he said. "Yeah, I'm dating. I'm not gonna tell y'all no. I'm getting older, it's time for me to step it up. The song speaks for itself. The record 'Like You' is self-explanatory.
